Renewal of Vows
Many couples choose to hold a "second wedding" when approaching a significant anniversary or after enduring an 'ebb' phase of their relationship. Perhaps newly weds held their wedding ceremony in another location and people who are significant to them couldn't make it.
Or due to circumstances beyond their control they weren't able to have the wedding ceremony they had always dreamed of so a second ceremony provides them with the chance to truly celebrate with those they love.
A renewal of vows provides a couple with the opportunity to rejuvenate the marriage by recommitting to each other after years of changes. Or to celebrate in a romantic and fun way the relationship they still have.
Including those people in their lives who have witnessed or contributed to their relationship, maybe even their own children, a couple have that opportunity to declare more publicly their commitment to each other and theirs vows to stay married. Each ceremony is unique to the couple and circumstance that have brought them to this point.
Symbolism and readings help to create a romantic and loving day. It is not a legal ceremony and adaptations to vows and wording must be made to reflect the true nature of the ceremony and to avoid misinterpretation. Certificates can be created celebrating their recommitment to each other and including their extended family.
